Family, friends and a tall glass of sweet tea - All the best things in life that Tammy likes to write about. (She doesn't write about the tea, but if her characters are drinking, that's what it'll be!) With an active imagination, a passion for family, and a small town perspective, Tammy pens stories filled with characters who feel family is top priority. Of course, life always seems to throw a few obstacles in their way. Kansas born and raised, Tammy has never strayed far from small town America. Growing up the oldest daughter of a traveling preacher, shyness gave her the talent to create worlds in her mind, while constant moves left her longing for roots. One of her dreams came true twenty years ago, when she met and married her husband. They’ve lived in the same house, in the same small Kansas community ever since, and together they’re still working at raising four children seven to twenty years old. Wichita Area Romance Authors
WARA is a local Kansas chapter of Romance Writers of America®
Jeannie’s been writing since grade school when she did a crossover fan story between The Beatles cartoon and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. TV show. Her first original novella, Stephanie’s Fantasy involved an ordinary girl and a guy who was a half-elf. As a young adult she wrote a lot of fan stories about Star Wars: A New Hope and about several TV shows. Jeannie met Penny Rader more years ago than either of them care to remember, at a support group Penny founded for writers of romance novels. That group grew into WARA where Jeannie learned to write romances, specializing in those with a fantasy, futuristic and paranormal bent. In 2007 she made her first professional sale: A short story titled “A Time to Die” to the Magazine of Unbelievable Stories. She continues to work on novels about “the weird stuff” and on adult-oriented romances. Her love of writing fan stories lives on, and she has two “fanfics” posted under Lady Tiger-eye at www.adultfanfiction.net. She lives in Wichita with her husband, daughter, son and a menagerie of critters in a too small apartment crammed with books, movies and video games.
A romantic at heart, Theresa writing as Reese Mobley, writes romantic comedies because she knows that the bumpy path to happily-ever-after is best handled with humor. Married to a man who appreciates her "quirkiness", they enjoy their three children and precious grandson. Theresa dreams of writing the Great American Novel, with, of course, a humorous twist.
After starting her freelance writing business in 1985 and earning extra money as a ghostwriter, Sandy Van Doren discovered the romance genre. She joined WARA in August 1988. She has served as newsletter coeditor for about 8 years and wrote a recurring column for 13 years. Her publishing credits include nonfiction short articles appearing in publications for writers, as well as speeches and seminars for area businesspersons. Currently, she has a couple of romantic suspense works-in-progress, as well as writing a blog in her cats' names, http://catsincommand.blogspot.com
